About
Threshold is a journal about making homes better — not through spending more or following trends, but through thinking more carefully about the spaces you already live in.
The name refers to the moment of crossing into a space: that first impression, before you've consciously registered anything, of whether a room feels right. We are interested in what creates that feeling — and how to design toward it deliberately.
Lighting, colour, furniture, plants, layout, style — the practical and the considered. Every piece on this site has been tested against real homes and real constraints. We don't write about things that only work in architect-designed loft conversions with unlimited budgets.
Sponsored content. Affiliate links on specific product recommendations. Trend-chasing. Shopping roundups masquerading as editorial. If a product appears here it's because it's genuinely worth discussing, not because someone paid for placement.
